Trees provide us with oxygen and raw material for tools and shelter. As one of the longest living species here, they allow us to make a connection between the past, present and future. Some are known to have medicinal properties, and, they balance the wildlife and protect the environment.
Evidence had shown that the amount of trees can affect global warming and trees could potentially absorb to two-thirds of the carbon that has been released to the atmosphere as a result of human activities.
There has been significant efforts to plant more trees around the world. An example would be the planting of over 350 million trees in Ethiopia to raise awareness on the importance of climate change, reforestation and afforestation.
