What makes a good soil for succulent?
1. Well-draining soil
This got to be the most important point. Succulent + Wet Soil = Rot
Cacti & Succulent soil selling outside are normally not well-draining enough and it is always good to add more drainage stones .
2. Non-compacting soil
Succulent hates compact soil as it makes the root more prone to rot and harder to breath.
3. Good aeration
The roots need to have space to breath too allowing them to absorb nutrients more easily.
4. Lesser nutrients in soil
Excessive nutrients can be harmful to a plant especially when nitrogen are in high content.
After figuring out the magic ratio to your soil mixture, make sure that watering should be of the right amount too!
